In Deuteronomy 6:6-7, God gives parents the primary responsibility for the Christian training of their children. This responsibility includes meeting the financial expenses involved in the education of their children. Therefore, school families support our school ministry through the payment of tuition and fees. Current tuition and fee rates for GROW Preschool and grades K-8 are available online here.
Although we believe that every family has a responsibility to contribute to the financial support of their child’s education, we understand that families do not all have the same financial resources. We also believe that the family of believers is called to care for families as stated in Galatians 6:2. Therefore, at Calvary Lutheran School, we strive to make a Christian education financially accessible to all families. We ask all families to faithfully evaluate their budget and spending to prioritize a Christian education for their children, and we offer a financial aid process for families based on financial need.
Financial Aid Process
Financial assistance applications for families will be reviewed and acted upon by the School Board if a family has completed a Texas Educational Freedom Account (TEFA) Application and provided Calvary Lutheran School with proof of their completed TEFA application.
The following are financial assistance options for families:
- Church Member Grant
Families who are members of Calvary Lutheran Church or of our supporting churches, Atonement Lutheran Church and Our Savior Ev. Lutheran Church, may apply for a Church Member Grant. - FACTS Financial Aid Application
This application is required for families requesting financial assistance. This application is also required for families who qualify for a Church Member Grant but who are requesting more financial assistance in addition to the Church Member Grant. - ACE Scholarship Application
This application is encouraged for families seeking financial assistance, but it is not required.
Calvary’s administrative staff will assist families as needed with these financial aid application steps.
Calvary’s School Board will review the status of a family’s TEFA Application, FACTS Financial Aid Application, ACE Scholarship Application, and, if applicable, a Member Grant Application when finalizing financial aid offers. Calvary’s School Board will then make financial aid decisions and report these financial aid decisions to applying families. Families will be given a deadline date to accept their financial aid offer.
Calvary’s School Board has no obligation to review financial assistance requests for families seeking enrollment or re-enrollment if they had the opportunity to complete a TEFA Application but did not do so, or if families have not met the established financial aid deadline for their FACTS Financial Need Application. Such families will be moved to the bottom tier of our enrollment prioritization and will only be granted financial aid by Calvary if their FACTS Financial Need Application is completed and financial aid funds are still available.
