Cherub Choir

For Grades 1-3

Directed by Ms. Dawn Aswege, the Cherub choir introduces young students to the building blocks of music and voice. The choir enjoys music from traditional American classics to favorite hymns as they learn to give glory to God in song. The Cherub choir is open to all students in grades 1-3 and meets on Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:00 PM.

Junior Choir

For Grades 4-8

Directed by Ms. Dawn Aswege, the Junior choir deepens students’ understanding of music theory. The choir is challenged with harmony, unique rhythms, and music from around the world. The Junior choir is open to all students in grades 4-8 and meets each Monday from 3:30 - 4:00 PM.

Directed by Ms. Jan Fritz, the handbell choir gives students the opportunity to practice teamwork in the world of music. The choir is trained to read notes, practice rhythm and timing, and blend their assigned tones to create beautiful melodies. The handbell choir is open to all students in grades 7-8 and meets each Wednesday from 3:15 - 4:00 PM.

Each year Calvary students enjoy opportunities to perform plays and musicals. Students are guided through the dramatic process as they memorize lines, practice dances, prepare costumes, and deliver their performance to an audience. Through the process, students build skills that will serve them well in life and make lasting memories with their friends and family.

Students in Calvary’s upper grades have the opportunity to build leadership skills while serving as student ambassadors. By representing their school at events throughout the year, students practice interpersonal skills, public speaking, and teamwork.

For 4th - 8th Grade Students

Flag Football

Calvary’s 4th-8th grade students are welcome to participate in Flag Football Club at Calvary. Club practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the fall from 3:30 – 4:30 PM on Calvary’s athletic field.

Volleyball

Calvary’s 4th-8th grade female students are welcome to participate in volleyball at Calvary. Teams practice weekly in the fall and compete in MAL and IAA leagues.

Basketball

Calvary’s 4th-8th grade students are welcome to participate in basketball at Calvary. Teams practice weekly in the winter and compete in MAL and IAA leagues.

Soccer

Calvary’s 4th-8th grade students are welcome to participate in soccer at Calvary. Teams practice weekly in the spring and compete in MAL and IAA leagues.

Track & Field

Calvary’s 4th-8th grade students are welcome to participate in track and field at Calvary. Each spring, students explore a variety of track and field events and compete in meets around DFW.

Tennis

Calvary’s 4th-8th grade students are welcome to participate in tennis at Calvary. Each spring, students learn the basics of this sport and compete in matches around DFW.
